Safeguarding training requirements vary according to your role and responsibilities within the Church. Most church officers, volunteers, clergy, licensed ministers, Permission to Officiate (PTO) holders, parish safeguarding officers, and those working with children, young people or vulnerable adults will be required to complete safeguarding training appropriate to their ministry or role.
In most cases, this will include Basic Awareness, Foundation Training and Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse, with some roles requiring additional modules such as Leadership and Safer Recruitment and People Management.
Recruiters and Managers – those involved in recruiting church officers and volunteers are likely to also require Safer Recruitment and People Management training. We also have an HR Toolkit to support you – find out more
