Aurora training is free for people in Sheffield Diocese, and is a mixture of sessions on children’s, youth and families ministry for you to choose from, to meet your training needs. Our training is suitable for anyone in a leadership position in a church, whether you are hands on with children’s, youth and families ministry, or not. We particularly invite clergy and Focal Ministers to attend sessions to help them consider and include children and young people in the life of the church.
You are invited to access training in different formats. There will be some in-person training, some online (Zoom) training, and some eLearning sessions you can do in your own time. All the themes previously covered in the Aurora courses (and much more!) are now available as e-learning videos. Sessions will be updated as we return to themes throughout the year.
To access the Aurora training programme, please register here.
Those wishing to pursue Authorisation as a Children’s or Youth Minister (previously possible by completing one of the Aurora courses), may complete the Aurora Authorisation Pathway. You will choose either Children’s ministry or Youth ministry, and commit to completing all the set training sessions required within a three year window. You could do it all in a year, but may prefer to space things out – it’s up to you.
