The Diocese of Sheffield is divided into two archdeaconries: Sheffield & Rotherham, and Doncaster. These two areas are further divided into 12 deaneries, grouped together into six twinned deaneries. Deaneries are made up of benefices (of which there are over 140 in the Diocese), which in turn contain the almost 170 parishes. These parishes are responsible for the 200+ churches in the Diocese of Sheffield.
Parishes are grouped into Mission Areas, of which there are 59, as part of the ongoing strategy for renewal and transformation of the Diocese.
