For some churches, maintaining regular weekly services has become difficult. This does not mean however that your church has too close.

The festival church model is becoming more widely used across the Church of England and has proved very successful in places such as the Diocese of Exeter. With your church reducing services, this can release you from the burden of the upkeep of weekly services and can allow for other groups to make use of the space and increase mission and outreach.

The Church of England has provided guidance including what a festival church is and the legal implications.
