The Diocese of Sheffield is especially keen to support those under thirty with exploring their vocation to ordination or to other ministries. We have several ways in which we support young vocations:
The Sheffield MES scheme is a chance if you are a young adult from 18-30 years old, to spend a year learning more about who God is, and who you are.

As part of the year you will be placed in a church. There are options of a variety of churches from different traditions working in different contexts within the Diocese.
We try to tailor the year to where you will best flourish and grow, being able to focus on specific areas of ministry in a supportive context.

You will also have a chance to do some study and to spend time hearing what God might be calling you to. We have four theology training course options which we offer. Through these you will have the opportunity to learn more about following Jesus through the Bible, and subjects such as the Church, Mission and Discipleship.
As part of the scheme you will work with both a placement supervisor and a mentor who will help you process what you are learning and experiencing.
If this sounds like it could be a good fit for you this September or if you just want to find out more, please get in contact with Hannah Grist the Ministry Experience Scheme Coordinator for an informal conversation.
