We are offering volunteer support packages which involves placing a Centenary Project Worker (CPW) in a parish for 3-6 months for 3-5 hours per week, to work with volunteers to launch or rethink CYF ministry in their parish.
The CPW would walk alongside the volunteers equipping them to launch the new ministry. Over the period of the placement the support would gradually reduce with the CPW eventually stepping back from the ministry, while ensuring long term sustainability. The volunteers would then become part of the Volunteer Network and receive support from the CP Central Team which would include the volunteer receiving termly mentoring.
Why are we Offering Support to Volunteers?
If we are to achieve the doubling of active disciples, many more churches than those resourced with a Centenary Project Worker need to effectively engage, nurture and disciple children, young people and families (CYF).
We know that there are faithful, enthusiastic and gifted volunteers who are already doing amazing work with CYF but would value more support.
Our Volunteer Support Offer
We are offering ‘scaffolding placements’ which involves placing a Centenary Project Worker (CPW) in a parish for 3-6 months for 3-5 hours per week, to work with volunteers to launch or rethink CYF ministry in their parish.
It could be a parish where there is a high number of infant Baptisms and they’d really like to build on those relationships by offering a Messy Church. Or a parish with a great link to a local church school and they’d love to offer an after school club. A large number of young people on a Sunday morning and they would love to establish a youth group.
The CPW would then walk alongside the volunteers equipping them to launch the new ministry. This could include signposting to training, working to safely recruit and train a volunteer team, setting up social media, applying for small resource grants and building relationships.
Over the course of the period of the placement the support would gradually reduce with the CPW eventually stepping back from the ministry, while ensuring long term sustainability.
Volunteer Network
The volunteers would then become part of the Volunteer Network and receive support from the CP Central Team which would include the volunteer receiving termly mentoring.
