CME Events for Lay Ministers

Next session: Sunday 7 May, 1.45 - 5.15pm at St Mary’s, Catcliffe.

Theme: ‘Creating Missional Worship’ and ‘Celebrating 10 years of W4T’

As it is 10 years since the W4T course began, we shall be looking back and looking forward. We would like to invite you to submit to Chris Fone, Warden of Worship Leaders ( for emails; 17 Rockfield Drive, Woodsetts, Worksop, S81 8RR for post). A short testimony (that could be read out in 2 minutes) about where W4T has made a difference to you and/or your church. Please would you do this by 30th April, so that we might select some to be shared on 7th May.

Teaching & Learning

There will be some teaching and some group work on the topic of ‘Creating missional worship’.

We will be re-authorising worship leaders who were last authorised in 2011 and 2012, and any who were authorised before then but missed the re-authorisation in November 2015. Chris Fone will be contacting those due for reauthorisation separately in the next few days.

We will end the afternoon with an Act of Worship.

Future sessions and re-authorisations

The next CME session will be Sunday 19th November 2017 – no reauthorisations

The next reauthorisations (cohort of 2012/13) will be November 2018

Spiritual Growth & Transformation (SG&T)

This is an experiential rather than an academic course. Over the course of six months it offers a process of prayer, listening and reflection through which participants are encouraged and enabled to draw closer to God. This course forms the first stage of the Art of Spiritual Accompaniment training as well as being a stand-alone experience.

Through the creation of a safe and sacred space for a small group, mornings are in silence and include a time or prayer and reflection before shared listening. The afternoons are used to explore themes such as images of God, images of self, the spiritual journey and personal call.

The next course will begin in September 2017. For more information see the brochure and forms below or contact Karen Colley on 01709 309116/
