Lay Ministry Training -  School of Ministry

Lay Ministry Training is for those training to become Readers, Lay Parish Evangelists and Pastoral Workers in their own parish in the Diocese of Sheffield. The Foundations course is a common first year for all of these courses and gives the opportunity to explore your calling into ministry.

Aurora

Aurora is an opportunity for those involved in youth or children's ministry to gain some new skills, increase their confidence and learn with others.  Aurora offers students a Cliff College Certificate in Youth or Children's Ministry and a Bishop's Certificate in Youth or Children's Ministry.

Worship 4 Today

Worship 4 today is a twelve session course specially designed to encourage and equip those involved or interested in leading worship in the local church. It is suitable for everyone – those with some experience and training and those with none; musicians and non-musicians; those who lead intercessions; those with skills in creative arts or technology; ordained or lay.

Part 1: Laying a firm foundation and
Part 2: Developing key skills are already available direct from Sheffield Diocese.
Part 3: Consolidating and expanding horizons is now published.

Worship 4 Today course at St Peter's 

 

Mission Shaped Ministry

mission shaped ministry (msm) is a course produced by the national Fresh Expressions team that takes people on a one-year learning journey in a supportive community.  The course is aimed at equipping people for a lifetime of good practice and learning in growing the church in a changing world.  The course is relevant to those wanting to develop traditional church as well as those developing new forms of church.

​mission shaped intro (msi) is a much shorter course of 6 sessions and is ideal for those starting from scratch as well as those who are thinking about joining the mission shaped ministry course.

Urban Theology Unit Sheffield

UTU has a variety of short courses and study days available on a wide range of subjetcs, from Exploring Hebew Scriptures to Public Life and Politics in Multi-Faith Britain. Details of these courses are available from the UTU Sheffield website.
