Programme Manager

The Diocese of Sheffield is seeking a skilled and motivated Programme Manager to coordinate the successful delivery of key strategic programmes that support the mission and growth of the Church across South Yorkshire and East Riding. You will be one of two Programme Managers with responsibility for the effective delivery of our national church funded work to deliver our Renewed Released Rejuvenated strategy.

The Programme Managers will between them support the effective delivery of projects within the following programme themes:

  • Developing Our People
  • Grafting & Revitalisations
  • Children Young People and Families
  • Social Justice
  • Central Mission Support

This is a pivotal role at the heart of our diocesan transformation journey, offering the opportunity to work alongside clergy, lay leaders, and partners to make a real and lasting difference to our communities.

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week, with part time options considered
  • Fixed-Term contract (31/12/2028), with potential for renewal up to 2031 as part of grant funding from National Church.
  • Salary £36,000 – 41,419 FTE (Depending on Experience)
  • 10% employer contribution to pension
  • Generous holiday entitlement (36 Days inclusive of 8 B/H FTE)
  • Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham with some hybrid working from home

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and relational leader who brings:

  • Demonstrable experience in programme or project management, ideally within a faith-based, not-for-profit, or public sector setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders sensitively and effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage complex programmes with competing demands.
  • A passion for supporting the Church’s mission and a personal alignment with the values of the Diocese of Sheffield.
