Christianity in Schools

Christianity In Schools sheets provide material for staff and school development.

The initial pages are for leaders, providing a Biblical basis for the subject under consideration.

This is followed by a section of staff engagement resourcing input for a staff meeting, followed by a ‘Through the School’ section that gives ideas for developing the theme in the whole school, in worship and in class.

Every one ends with a ‘Thinking Theologically’ handout for distribution in staff development.

Use the resource to lead and the handout to support subject knowledge.

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the National Society's framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. The framework sets out the expectations for the conduct of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Methodist and ecumenical Schools under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005 and provides a process for evaluating the extent to which church schools are "distinctively and recognisably Christian institutions". More information can be found at the Church of England website.

The contact for SIAMs inspections in the Diocese of Sheffield is John Hoare.

To find an individual school's report please use the school map to find the school and its web site, where you will find the most recent report.
