Priest in Charge at Northern Lights Mission Partnership

The Bishop of Sheffield wishes to appoint TWO Incumbent-status priests (Priest in Charge) to the Northern Lights Mission Partnership

The three benefices of Ellesmere St Peter (LEP), Pitsmoor Christ Church and Sheffield St Cuthbert Fir Vale are working together to enable two exciting posts that offer:

  • the opportunity to serve a vibrant, multi-ethnic, inner-city area
  • ministry amongst active, diverse and faithful church memberships
  • work with self-supporting ordained colleagues, lay ministry teams and community partnerships

The two post holders will be licensed to all three churches, with specific parish responsibilities, and will work together to meet the pastoral and outreach needs of the whole mission partnership.

We are looking for a clergy team with:

  • passion for urban mission and service
  • commitment to working collaboratively
  • experience in evangelism, church growth and developing discipleship
  • ability to work in creative and innovative ways

Incumbent for the Parish of Tickhill with Stainton

The Bishop of Sheffield intends to appoint a man or woman to this incumbency in a lively, prosperous and articulate parish, set in a picturesque South Yorkshire commuter town. The potential for the church here to grow in spiritual strength and numbers is as big as your imagination. The new vicar will be a Christlike, inspirational and compassionate leader whose gifts include:-

  • Great communication and listening skills
  • Ability to preach and teach the Bible in a variety of contexts
  • An approachable personality who connects well with people
  • A heart for evangelism, especially among the young
  • An understanding of how historic church buildings can be used and adapted creatively for 21st Century mission
  • Eagerness to share ministry with others by training leaders and delegating tasks
  • A person of prayer, expectancy and reliance upon the Holy Spirit

Vicar of All Saints Wath-upon-Dearne

Patron: The Dean and Chapter of Christchurch, Oxford

In collaboration with the Patron, the Bishop of Sheffield is seeking to appoint a Vicar for All Saints’ Wath-upon-Dearne, a large and busy parish in the heart of a redeveloping area in the Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster region of South Yorkshire.

Can you:

  • Develop a welcoming church community offering worship that is accessible to new people?
  • Work with with the Church School to encourage families and children grow into membership of “traditional” church or “fresh expressions “?
  • Teach the Bible and lead worship in ways that inspire discipleship, prayer and mission?
  • Work collaboratively and develop ministry teams?
  • Create a network of small groups for teaching, fellowship and pastoral support?
  • Train up key lay leaders to build up the church and serve the community?
  • Pioneer new work among children and teenagers?  
  • Then you may well have the gifts that the Parish is seeking in its next incumbent.

Christ Church Endcliffe (BMO) Associate Minister

We are looking for an ordained Anglican minister, with a heart for reaching people with the gospel and for building up and sending out God’s people, to join the staff team of a growing evangelical church from early 2018.

Christ Church Endcliffe was planted eight years ago and has grown steadily, resulting in us moving to having two services on a Sunday afternoon and evening. We meet in the parish church building of St Augustine’s Endcliffe, and have recently become a Bishop’s Mission Order.  The Church Council has passed a resolution under the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests.

We are looking for an ordained man who has:

  • a strong evangelical conviction
  • an ability to teach the Bible
  • a personal dependence on God and his word
  • a passion for reaching people with the gospel
  • a heart to serve in the local church
