Interim Pioneer Minister, Parson Cross Sheffield

The Bishop of Sheffield wants to appoint a mission-minded priest, with a good understanding and experience of pioneering new initiatives, to serve for an initial three-year period in the S5 Mission Partnership (Parson Cross, Norwood and Wordsworth Avenue).  The appointed Pioneer Minister will work collaboratively with ordained and lay colleagues across the mission partnership, with specific responsibility for:

  • leading St Paul’s Wordsworth Avenue in the discernment of their future (the Interim Pioneer Minister will initially be appointed as Priest in Charge of St Paul’s to enable this);
  • forming and equipping a small team of people to start a fresh expression of church
in the Parson Cross area;

  • building good missional outreach in the community, especially with local schools;

Priest-in-Charge, Attercliffe South-East Mission Partnership

The Bishop of Sheffield wishes to appoint two Incumbent-status priests (Priest in Charge) to the Attercliffe South-East Mission Partnership in the benefices of Christ Church with St Peter Gleadless, Christ Church Hackenthorpe and St James Woodhouse.

We are looking for two Priests-in-Charge with complementary gifts to provide leadership and fresh vision at the heart of the Attercliffe South-East Mission Partnership.  The post-holders will work closely together across all three benefices, each with specific parish responsibilities, to encourage growth in discipleship and effective engagement in mission amongst the whole people of God.

If you:

  • have a passion for mission with experience in evangelism and church growth;
  • desire to work collaboratively in developing lay discipleship and ministry;
  • enjoy creative thinking with a willingness to try new approaches; and
  • have experience in reaching younger generations, engaging them in the life of the church…

then we would love to hear from you!
