Effective mission in your context today will inevitably involve some use of digital tools and online platforms.
Whether you’re communicating your church’s vision through its website, using multimedia presentations to engage children, families and young people or warmly inviting your local community to your events through its social media profiles, growing in mission often means growing more deliberate in your use of digital things.
The Diocese of Sheffield’s Mission Action Planning is intended both to help parishes identify the next steps that they can take in developing their mission and outreach, as well as to help identify where practical help and advice can be given.
As part of the practical help and advice available, Deliberately Digital Mission Action Planning Support is the opportunity to have your Action Plans supported through relevant advice and training in digital mission.
How does it work?
- Submit a short online Support Form with your basic details.
- Your church’s Mission Action Planning response will be read and considered by Elliot Hyliger, the Diocese of Sheffield’s Digital Mission Development Advisor.
- Elliot will then arrange a visit to you in parish to discuss and offer bespoke support and encouragement regarding the digital elements of your Action Plan.
- Where desired, you will receive ongoing support from Elliot to acces the right training and resources for you.
This service is designed to strengthen your Mission Action Planning; to support you as you develop in mission and outreach in today’s digital age.
You are not required to have a digital strategy, a digital focus to your action plan or even have a firm idea of how to develop your church’s digital offering. All support begins with a conversation. So whether you have submitted your Mission Action Planning 2023 response or are now beginning to think seriously about the process, complete the form or get in touch with Elliot Hyliger directly to begin being Deliberately Digital in your Mission Action Planning.
