New Associate Archdeacon Announced

The Bishop of Sheffield is pleased to announce that, after a thorough appointment process, the Revd Hannah Hupfield has been offered and accepted the post of Associate Archdeacon Transition Enabler of the twinned Deaneries of Snaith and Hatfield and Adwick le Street.

Hannah is taking over the role from Clive Hogger, who left earlier this Summer to become the next Archdeacon of Cornwall in the Diocese of Truro.

Hannah is currently vicar of St Thomas, High Lane and Rural Dean for Chadkirk deanery in the Diocese of Chester. She previously served in university chaplaincy at Selwyn College, Cambridge as assistant chaplain, and St Catharine’s College as interim chaplain. She has also previously served in a group of seven parishes in the Diocese of Lincoln.

Hannah says:

‘I’m delighted to have been called to become an Associate Archdeacon in the Diocese of Sheffield. I am especially looking forward to getting to know the communities and churches in the deaneries of Adwick-le-Street and Snaith & Hatfield as we explore where God is leading us.’

The Bishop of Sheffield, the Rt Revd Dr Pete Wilcox, says:

‘I am delighted with the appointment of Hannah as Associate Archdeacon Transition Enabler for the twinned deaneries of Adwick-le-Street and Snaith and Hatfield. Hannah is a great addition to our AATE team and I am sure she will be a real encouragement and practical support to the parishes of those deaneries as they seek to flourish and share the good news of Jesus Christ  and not least to our stipendiary incumbents as they seek to inhabit the role of Oversight Minister, nurturing the whole people of God for the whole mission of God, and enabling all the baptised to enter into the fulness of their baptismal vocation to shine as lights for Christ in the world to the glory of God the Father.’

Further information regarding a licensing date will be confirmed once all the formalities have been completed.
