The Society of Catholic Priests is a world-wide inclusive organisation, with a European Province, which we in the Diocese of Sheffield are part of. We take seriously the sacramental life of the Church and place the Eucharist at the centre of everything, the sacrament of God-with-us. Part of our inclusive Catholic vision is the belief that God calls both women and men to receive the sacrament of ordination to the diaconate, priesthood and episcopate. We celebrate humanity in all its God-given diversity and seek to ensure that the voices of LGBTQ+, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Christians are heard, understood and engaged with in the wider Church. The Sheffield Chapter – which includes Doncaster and Rotherham – meet four times a year to celebrate the Eucharist, promote inclusive Anglo-Catholic spirituality and theology, and support one another.
