Assistant DAC Officer

Do you have a passion for church buildings and their importance in the life of a community? If so, our new Diocesan Advisory Committee assistant post could be for you.

The DAC is a statutory body of the Diocese, and with a range of highly experienced professionals and experts, it advises on a wide range of issues concerning what works can be undertaken in our church buildings.

Our new colleague will:

  • Understand how important our church buildings are to our local communities and their mission and outreach
  • Have a proactive and supportive can-do approach
  • Be able to build great local relationships
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Be able to get alongside people helping them grow in confidence and to understand some of the intricacies and challenges of changes to buildings.

Working with the DAC Secretary and other colleagues our new Assistant DAC Secretary will be working directly with parishes and worshipping communities across the diocese, supporting them with practical advice and guidance as they navigate their plans for their church buildings through the faculty system, and then presenting plans to the DAC. There will also be opportunities for key project work.

  • 21 hours per week
  • Salary £17,860 (£29,767 FTE)
  • 10% employer contribution to pension
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham
