I love volunteering as Diocesan Environment Officer (DEO). The Diocese has declared a climate and nature emergency and we’re working together to treasure God’s Creation. The Fifth Anglican Mark of Mission calls us to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. All marks of mission including transforming unjust structures, responding to human need, and nurturing new believers relate to this work. Jesus called us to love our neighbour, and poorer communities globally are most affected by a crisis which they didn’t cause. Young people challenge us for prophetic leadership so we’re working toward the national Net Zero by 2023 target and the A Rocha Eco Church/Eco Diocese programme. Over a quarter of our churches are now Eco Churches!
