Shine Your Light Fortnight – Light Parties!

Churches across the Diocese are being encouraged to lead celebration assemblies and host light parties at their local school as part of Shine Your Light Fortnight (SYLF).

It’s hoped children and parents will get involved with the light parties as one of many opportunities throughout the fortnight to help share the hope and light that Jesus brings. Running from 18 October-1 November, the wider campaign, in partnership with Arise Sheffield, is encouraging Christians across the Diocese to open their conversations, their homes, and their churches to create opportunities to shine the light of Jesus.

Digital resources for celebration assemblies and light parties will be made available in early September for people to access and share, alongside a limited number of ‘party packs’. Churches with both C of E and non-C of E schools are encouraged to take part.

Elise Deput, Church in School Enabler, said:

‘My hope is that these resources will enable churches to create fun and positive experiences for families, and provide an opportunity to strengthen the connection between church, school and home. I encourage anyone interested to get in touch!’
