After a thorough appointment process the Bishop of Sheffield was pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Rob Bridgewater as Priest in Charge and Oversight Minister of the Benefice of St John the Baptist Owlerton. Rob was formerly the Associate Minister of Christ Church Endcliffe, also in the Diocese of Sheffield. Rob was ordained in 2015 and served as Curate at St John’s Chapeltown, and is really pleased to be returning to the North of the City. Before ordination Rob worked for a series of advisory firms to assist companies and government organisations in running their pension funds. He’s married to Caroline with three daughters.
Rob said:
‘As a minister and family, we’re so thankful to God for leading us to serve and love the church family at St John’s Owlerton. In the weeks leading up to the licensing I’ve been ever more convinced that we will be a good ‘fit’ together, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what Jesus will be doing with us all in the months and years ahead!’
