Petertide Ordinations 2023

The list of people to be ordained as deacons and priests in the Diocese of Sheffield has been released.

The 2023 Petertide Ordinations in the Diocese of Sheffield will take place at Sheffield Cathedral during the first weekend of July.

On Saturday 1 July the Bishop of Doncaster, the Rt Revd Sophie Jelley, will ordain (13) priests at 4pm.
On Sunday 2 July the Bishop of Sheffield, the Rt Revd Dr Pete Wilcox, will ordain (9) deacons at 10.30am. Then the Bishop of Ebbsfleet, the Rt Revd Rob Munro, will ordain a presbyter and at 5.30pm the Bishop of Beverley, the Rt Revd Stephen Race, will ordain a deacon and a priest.

Diocesan Director of Vocations Dan Christian said:

‘The vocations team are so looking forward to the ordinations this Summer as we get to celebrate some wonderful candidates who have listened to the call of God in their lives and who are stepping out in faith to be ordained deacon and priest here in the Diocese of Sheffield.  Please do be praying for all our ordinands, their families and friends and the mission areas they will serve, as they prepare for this special day and embark on a new season of ministry.’

  • Mr Antony Heppel, to serve as Assistant Curate at The Resurrection Doncaster (SSM)
  • Mr Christopher Hutchinson, to serve as Assistant Curate of the parish of Great Snaith (Stipendiary)
  • Dr Louise McInnes, to serve as Assistant Curate of St Leonard, Dinnington and St Simon & St Jude, Thurcroft (Stipendiary)
  • Miss Brittany Webb, to serve as Assistant Curate at St Leonard’s Community Church (BMO) in the parish of Heeley with Arbourthorne and Norfolk Park (Stipendiary)
  • Mr Christopher Wroot, to serve as Assistant Curate of St Peter, Warmsworth (SSM)
  • Mr Ben Grist, to serve as Assistant Curate of St John’s, Goole (Stipendiary)
