Funded from restricted reserves, the Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committee is putting forward trials of solar panels and enhanced insulation in a number of Diocesan properties selected by our Diocesan Surveyor.
This is intended to match the wider National Church triennium funding Net Zero initiatives and help us to practically trial, learn and implement environmentally responsible and effective policies.
Our Diocesan Surveyor Michael Lindley said:
“The £100k money will allow us to fund some pilot schemes on clergy housing, targeting those houses with low EPC ratings and focusing on Solar PV and thermal insulation improvements.
“This will allow us to continue the journey towards Net Zero with the ultimate aim of rolling out this vital work more widely as further funding becomes available.”
