Pupils at Tankersley St Peter’s C of E Primary School took part in a very special worship last Friday, exploring the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer. It was led by the members of the Worship Council who explained the significance of the prayer for Christians and guided everyone through its message line by line.
A group of pupils brought the story from the Gospel of Luke to life, re-enacting the moment when Jesus taught his followers how to pray. The newly formed school worship band also gave a moving performance of the song “God Will Work It Out.”
Yvette Cooper, the school’s RE, Worship and Music Co-ordinator, said:
“We come together in worship every day as a school community because we believe it is important to take time to reflect and nurture our spirituality. The children loved preparing the music and drama for this special worship, and it was wonderful to share it with everyone.”
