Lin Button’s Healing Prayer School visited St John’s Goole on 12 & 13 January 2024
At St John’s we recognise and have witnessed, through healing experiences, the importance of having space to offer prayer for healing. One of the ways we’ve tried to implement this more is by providing the opportunity during both our Sunday services, for anyone to go forward for prayer, which has proved to be successful since it was introduced a few months ago.
Further to this, we’ve recently had an amazing visit, on the evening of Friday 12th January 2024, Lin Button and some of her Healing Prayer School team came to offer us the chance to experience some of the ministry they provide. Starting with worship together, led by Jonny Patton our Worship and Operations Director, we were then led by Lin sharing her story and offering us the opportunity for personal prayer for healing from one of the team.
This was continued with a full day of fellowship, talks on topics of ‘What is God like?’, ‘Self Acceptance’, ‘ Whose voice are you listening to?’ and ‘Perseverance’ and prayers for healing. There was no pressure and individuals could choose whether each prayer session after the talks were applicable to them. Several topics were covered which included things like healing from comparing ourselves to others and the opportunity to receive an anointing with oil.
It was such a blessing for everyone who attended and we are talking with the team about another future visit from them.
In the meantime, we are also discussing how we might be able to offer the possibility of providing a drop-in sessions of healing prayer ministry during the week.
