Those of us who preach inevitably need refreshment, encouragement and further inspiration to continue nourishing this vital ministry. So this event for Readers is focused on refreshing our preaching.
The day will be led by Liz Shercliff, who was a Reader in Chester diocese for 16 years. She became Director of Studies for Readers and continues her involvement in Reader training in various dioceses, focussing on the preaching ministry. She has authored and co-authored several highly acclaimed books about preaching, including The Present Preacher (2021), the focus of our day together. She is a regular contributor to The Canterbury Preacher’s Companion and has written a range of articles about preaching. Her research interests and other publications focus on women’s preaching and women in the Bible.
