We are really excited to share details for a brand new, annual, Children’s Day, for church based children’s groups.
After hearing requests for a “Breathe Deep for children” many times we have decided that we need to make it happen, during April/May we held two meetings to share our vision and gather feedback from Children’s Workers from across the Diocese, giving an opportunity to shape what the day might look like, we then put together a small core team to make the discussions become a reality.
The day will be called Bright Lights. The reason for the name is that children are bright lights in the church, community, and the world. They are often a source of brightness in a dark world, shining as lights for Christ, and each child is a different colour and type of light.
The event will take place on 9 May 2026, from 10am to 2pm, at Liberty Church, Rotherham. It is for children aged 5 to 10 years old, and the cost is £5 per person.
Booking will be done on this page by parents or carers, with payments made online at the time of booking. Bookings will open in early February 2026, after Breathe Deep.
Like Breathe Deep, the day is open to children from churches of all denominations. Children’s Workers will be expected to accompany and take responsibility for their group, with the usual group ratios that apply.
