Be Abuse Aware

Ryan Gadsby and Mike North bring you ‘Be Abuse Aware’.

 

Be Abuse Aware is about:
  • Being Educated about abuse – signs, symptoms and the invisible
  • Being Active in our groups to create safer spaces and heighten our awareness, and
  • Being Alongside those children and young people who have experienced and suffered abuse
Be Abuse Aware is a step further than the standard safeguarding training we have all done. It is led by Ryan Gadsby (an abuse survivor) and Mike North (the youth worker who didn’t see the abuse). Together, they share their own stories and stories from many other survivors in order to equip you to be more abuse aware for the sake of the children in your groups.

This programme is for those working with children and young people across the Diocese and will focus on building greater awareness, confidence and understanding around abuse and safeguarding.
