Changes to Facebook Pages

Following changes to the Meta Business Suite, Facebook pages will be limited to two links per month (including links in comments). This will impact any Facebook posts made by churches going forward, especially those who link to a local website.

For churches who mainly post photos and story updates within the posts themselves, these changes shouldn’t affect how you post too much. However, for those who like to link to their website or push sign-ups for a particular event, we understand and share your frustrations about this. Our communications on the main Diocesan Facebook page will have to be tailored going forward while we discuss options.

We have highlighted a few possible solutions to help:

  • For good news stories, either post the full story as one on Facebook or add a ‘find out more on our website’ final sentence.
  • For sign-ups that need a link to a website/ticketing system, include the link as text on any image you upload
  • Use more video reels and shorts which include a short URL within the video itself
  • Add a ‘call to action’ button at the top of your Facebook page which will include a specific link (e.g. vacancies page, news article)

If you have any questions about the proposed changes, contact communications@sheffield.anglican.org.
