Bishop Pete Wilcox launches memoir reflecting on faith, leadership and personal resilience.
The Rt Revd Dr Pete Wilcox, Bishop of Sheffield, has officially launched his new memoir, A Year of the Lord’s Favour: Grace in times of need, at a special event held at St John the Evangelist Church, Ranmoor, Sheffield.
The launch followed a moving service of Choral Evensong and was attended by clergy, community leaders, friends, and members of the public. The book offers a deeply personal reflection on the year Bishop Pete was appointed to lead the Diocese of Sheffield while simultaneously undergoing treatment and surgery for cancer.
Speaking at the event, Bishop Pete said:
“This book is a testimony to the grace I experienced in a year of profound challenge and change. It’s not just my story, but a reflection on how faith sustains us in times of need.”
A Year of the Lord’s Favour explores themes of vocation, vulnerability, and hope, offering readers insight into the spiritual and emotional journey of episcopal leadership under extraordinary circumstances.
