Arise Rotherham will be back in 2026 following a hugely successful debut campaign in 2025.
An Arise Rotherham launch event is scheduled for Sunday 1 March at 6pm, taking place at Liberty Church in Rotherham. An incredible 97.1% of all the roads in the borough were prayed for, with prayer walks recorded and new people signing up daily to join in.
This commitment to prayer helped to lead to some exciting moments later on in the year: an open-air baptism event shared by many churches at Manvers Lake saw 54 people baptised at the end of August, and the largest Church of England confirmation event for many years (41 people) took place at Rotherham Minster in October.
Revd John Hibberd, Mission Development Adviser, said:
‘What an amazing encouragement Arise Rotherham was in 2025! We could not have imagined when we began how it would take off. The amount of prayers taking place and the events which followed were evidence of people turning to Jesus and committing to follow him. Could there be a link with our prayers for our communities during Arise Rotherham? Church history points to believing prayer always being the foundation for the growth of the Church. So, we do not see these things as a coincidence.’
More information will be sent out in mid-January, and the Arise Rotherham prayer app and website will be reactivated in February 2026. If you have a question about Arise Rotherham, email: info@ariserotherham.org
