Racial Justice Officer

Are you passionate about Racial Justice? Do you want to help make a positive difference in the church and wider community? The Racial Justice Officer will be joining the Diocese of Sheffield at an exciting time helping us grow in our strategy for Racial Justice. We have some intercultural worshipping communities in our Diocese and we’d love to see more of them! You will lead on our 3-year project ‘Turning the Map Diverse’ which is funded by the Racial Justice Unit and collaborate with various stakeholders including our Resourcing Mission and Ministry Team to achieve project outcomes.

You should be educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent with experience of leading change projects. You will be able to build effective working relationships with all manner of people and with an understanding of current racial justice, social action and inclusion issues.

  • Full time 35 hours per week
  • Three-year fixed term contract with potential for renewal
  • Salary £36,500 – £38,298 (dependent on experience)
  • 10% employer contribution to pension

  • Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham with some hybrid working from home
