Diocese of Sheffield

The nature of ordained ministry continues to change and develop, in the Church of England as a whole and in also our own diocese. We’ll consider how we respond to those changes and how they affect our understanding of what this calling and ministry involves.

Led by Rev Derek Walmsley (DDO, Diocese of Leeds) and Rev Jane Truman.
An event for clergy.

The Leaders

Rev Derek Walmsley is the Diocesan Director of Ordinands & Vocations for the Anglican Diocese of Leeds and and a Residentiary Canon of Wakefield Cathedral.. He is the author of the book “God Calls Everyone” and has spoken about vocation at a range of events from Spring Harvest and Soul Survivor to Anglo-Catholic vocations conferences at St Stephen’s House.

Having grown up in South Yorkshire and been ordained in the Diocese of Sheffield, Rev Jane Truman is now Assistant Director of Vocations in our diocese, having formerly been Director of Training for the Church Army.  She has been a consultant in the development of lay ministries in our diocese and also a tutor of ordinands at St Hild College.
