Youth and Families’ Worker – St Margaret’s, Swinton

Part of the Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

Hours: 25 hours per week.

Salary: £19,200 Per annum (£24,000 full time equivalent)

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as Youth and Families’ Worker at St Margaret’s church in Swinton, Rotherham.

We are looking for a committed Christian with experience in working with Youth and Families to join our ministry team. The post-holder will develop and co-ordinate this ministry at St Margaret’s, helping us to be welcoming and make connections with the wider community.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To co-ordinate the youth and families’ ministry in Swinton, engaging with the community and nurturing them through their faith.
  2. To initiate new ministries and engage with young families from the wider community; training and equipping a team of volunteers to support the work.
  3. To be a member of the Centenary Project Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 3 years initially
