Children, Youth and Families’ Worker – Rotherham Minster and St Paul’s Masbrough

Part of The Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary: £24,000 Pro rata

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Children, Youth & Families’ Worker.  We are looking for a committed Christian to join our team who has experience in working with Children, Youth and Families who will develop and co-ordinate the work in the life of the church and the wider community.

You will lead and grow a team of volunteers, build on the strong links with the local schools and be part of the Centenary Project Network.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To work across the mission area to provide activities for children and young people, resourcing whole families in their faith journeys.
  2. To use an integrated approach, across our communities and worshipping communities, working with the staff team and volunteers, to provide co-ordinated opportunities for children and young families to grow in faith.
  3. To be a member of the Centenary Project Worker Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: Fixed-term contract, 18 months’
