Children and Families’ Worker – St Matthew’s, Carver Street

In partnership with The Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

Hours: 16 hours per week.

Salary: £12 per hour (salary in line with the Real Living Wage) Increased annually

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Children and Families’ Worker, employed at St Matthew’s Church, Carver Street in Sheffield.

We are looking for a committed Christian with experience in working with Children and Families to join our ministry team. The post-holder will develop and co-ordinate this ministry at St Matthew’s, helping us to be welcoming and make connections with the wider community.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To lead the Children’s ministry at St Matthew’s and support a team of parents and volunteers in providing this.
  2. To increase engagement with Children within the life of the church working towards different provisions for different age groups.
  3. To be a member of the Centenary Project Worker Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 3 years initially with a 6 month’ probation period
