Hours: 35 hours per week – (part-time hours available)

Salary: £25,000 per annum (FTE £13.74 per hour)

“The Cornerstone Mission Area welcomes all people and we do not discriminate on any level. We believe that all people are precious and loved by God”

The Cornerstone Mission Area consists of five parishes in the north of Rotherham, South Yorkshire – Greasbrough, Kimberworth, Kimberworth Park, Rawmarsh and Thorpe Hesley. We are a group of churches who want to see local people flourish as they experience Jesus’ love; are nurtured within our communities and grow in their love for Him.

This role is based in the Cornerstone Mission Area, but will be targeted to specific locations within the area, as discerned by the worker and their line manager.

The role is based on 35 hours per week but we are open to a discussion on the role, based on the discernment of the candidate.

You will lead and grow a team of volunteers, build on the strong links with the local schools and be part of the Centenary Project Network.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To work with local schools, alongside an existing team, and to be a pioneer, creating new ways of connecting with children and families.
  2. To lead and grow a team of volunteers who will help to engage and nurture children and their families in the life of the church and wider communities.
  3. Effectively engage, nurture and disciple a new generation of children and families.
  4. To be a member of the Centenary Project Worker Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
