A generous life is a hallmark of our faith; the more willing we are to be generous, the more we reflect the giving nature of the God in which we believe.
A generous culture comprises people living this lifestyle and is essential to a sustainable church. We can express generosity in many ways (time, treasure and talents), and our team is here to help you encourage this within your parishes.
A Generous Jesus
The Parables through a lens of Generosity
Jesus taught using parables – simple stories intended to impart a spiritual lesson.
Jesus gave us everything we needed to know to live an abundant life. Through these stories, we need only spend time in prayer, study and reflection to absorb and live out these lessons.
This set of resources takes an in-depth look at eight parables and what they teach us about living generously. The resource is best for small groups, and each should take 45 minutes from start to finish.
There is no order or expected number to complete; please enjoy as many of the parables over whatever timeframe suits your small group.
All of the parables are presented below as downloadable PDFs and the accompanying videos below that

Other Resources to Encourage Generosity
Generosity is a spiritual gift, and we need to encourage people to seek this gift as they grow in their faith. We all learn in different ways and so we need to offer as many ways as possible for people to explore God’s generosity towards them, and the generosity he is calling us to show to others. We also want to encourage every age and stage in this exploration of a generous life.

Here are some resources to help you start reflecting on this theme. This pack contains the following:
- Church Leader Resource
- Small Group Study
- Household Resource
- Young Families Household Resource
- Seniors Resource
