Have you ever wondered about going on a retreat day but weren’t sure where to start?
Our Seven Sacred Spaces Retreat Day on 8 February is an opportunity to explore how our lives inhabit seven sacred spaces, and how these spaces inform our lives in community and discipleship.
We will do this through a guided journey through seven spaces commonly found in traditional monastic communities – cell, chapel, cloister, garden, chapter, refectory and scriptorium. Inspired by the work of George Lings, who suggests that each space can teach us something about our life with Jesus, we will consider how each space is embodied in our own lives in order to help us to grow as disciples and Christian communities.
Suitable for both new and experienced retreatants, the day will consist of a mixture of guided sessions and quiet times to allow for personal reflection and exploration. Tickets cost £6 each with lunch and refreshments included. Some sessions will be held in areas of the Cathedral which are not usually open to the public.
The closing date for bookings is Tuesday 4 February 2025.
