Mary’s Meals

6th November 2015

Mary’s Meals was born in a shed. A lopsided, tired looking shed in a very remote part of Scotland.  This shed, however, has become the HQ of a global movement that is now feeding more than one million of the world’s poorest children every school day; God uses the weak things of this world.

The work of Mary’s Meals is beautifully simple. They provide a nutritious daily meal for impoverished children in school. This meal attracts chronically hungry children into the classroom where they receive an education that can offer them a route out of poverty.

It costs just £12.20 to give a child the gift of a daily meal for a whole school year. In addition, Mary’s Meals is committed to spending at least 93p of every £1 directly on charitable activities.

Advent is the time when we wait expectantly for the coming of Christ; the one who brings Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love to a hurting world. This advent season Mary's Meals invite you to walk on a journey to bring Hope, Peace, Joy and Love to some of the world’s poorest children.

There’s never been a better time to support their work, every pound raised for Mary’s Meals this Christmas will be doubled by the UK Government.

May God richly bless you and your congregation during this Advent season.
