Breathe Deep Day 2015 - In Review
27th January 2015
Young people from 30 different churches across the diocese gathered at St Thomas Church, Philadelphia on Saturday for the second annual Breathe Deep youth event. The 200 young people enjoyed worship led by local Christian musicians and hearing Bishop Steven exploring a new way of using the Lord’s prayer in understanding our world and our part in it. The morning also included a choice of workshops on some big issues for the young people to engage with leaders and each other.
The event was interactive and engaging throughout, including a chance to ‘text the Bishop a question’ and sending selfies in to win prizes. After a SubWay lunch, the afternoon was packed with activities including a huge inflatable assault course, crafts, circus skills, graffiti walls, video making, video games, a photo booth and lots of time to connect with each other.
“We hope to create an environment where young people can learn, think, relate, laugh and worship together” says Children and Young People’s Adviser, Mike North. You can see some of the pictures of the day online now, and some videos are being produced in then next few weeks. www.breathedeepday.info
