Bishop of Sheffield visits Rotherham Mosque

The Bishop of Sheffield made a visit to the Ridge Road Mosque in Rotherham on the evening of 18 November to meet leaders of the Muslim Community. 
 
Bishop Steven Croft was greeted by children on arrival at the mosque and given a short tour of the facilities.  He was accompanied by the Revd Canon David Bliss, who is the Vicar of Rotherham Minster.  Councillor Saghir Alam, Chair of the Rotherham Council of Mosques then chaired a prolonged discussion of the challenges facing the Rotherham community at the present time. 
 
Bishop Steven said afterwards:

"I came away from the visit with a much more informed understanding of the considerable challenges facing the Muslim community in Rotherham at the present time which will inform other conversations across the town and more widely".
