Bishop of Sheffield announces appointment of new Diocesan Secretary

The Bishop of Sheffield, Steven Croft, is pleased to announce the appointment of Heidi Adcock as the next Diocesan Secretary in the Diocese of Sheffield.
Heidi is a senior civil servant, currently working as a Deputy Director in the Department for Education in Sheffield managing multi-site finance teams working at five other sites across the country. Heidi joined the civil service from a teaching background in 1994, and has since worked in various roles in Education and HM Treasury.
Heidi is professionally qualified in Public Finance and Accountancy as well as Personnel and Development and has an MBA from Cranfield University School of Management. Heidi came from Suffolk to Sheffield in 1987 to study (History and Social Policy) at the University of Sheffield. Upon graduating in 1990, Heidi travelled to Japan to teach English on the Japanese Exchange Teaching (JET) Programme, returning to Sheffield University in 1992 for postgraduate study in education and Japanese.
Living in Crosspool, Sheffield with her husband Iain and their family, Heidi currently worships at St. Columba's. Active in her local community, Heidi was a parent governor at Lydgate Infant School for several years and a volunteer for the Scouts and the local after school club. Heidi enjoys the Endcliffe Parkrun on a Saturday morning and her monthly book group.
Heidi will take up her new role on 15 June 2016, taking over from Malcolm Fair who is retiring after eight years in the post, she said:

As I start my new role and learning journey, I look forward to seeing more of our Diocese, meeting new colleagues and engaging with the invaluable work and ambitious plans for the future.”
