Secretary to the Diocesan Advisory Committee and Priest-in-charge of Thrybergh, St Leonard and St Peter
The Bishop of Sheffield is seeking an experienced priest for this joint appointment. The priest will need to have a good working knowledge of church buildings, history and liturgy as well as an openness to working with parishes as they seek to reorder buildings for community use. The parish situated in north Rotherham (not far from Church House) has two buildings, one historic (recently in receipt of a significant EH grant) and the other situated in a prime location soon to be developed as a new housing estate.

The Bishop of Sheffield and the Church Pastoral Aid Society are looking to appoint an experienced priest to this large and lively community-based church on the Western edge of Sheffield. St Luke's is a four way LEP (Anglican, Baptist, Methodist and URC) with a single and united congregation, which values and embraces the traditions of each denomination. St Luke's has a sizable ministry team and the new vicar will need to be skilled in providing vision and leadership and in developing the gifts of others. There is significant potential for growth in the church and for St Luke's to become a resource for other churches.

Rotherham ROYAL Visit: Minster Flower Festival
HRH The Duke of Gloucester will open a Flower Festival to celebrate a year in the life of Rotherham Minster on Wednesday 21 September (11.10am). The Festival will run from the 21-25 September and will be open daily 10am-4pm, with refreshments available. To conclude the event, there will be an outdoor Songs of Praise on the new Minster forecourt attended by Bishop Steven and the Mayor of Rotherham at 4pm on Sunday 25 September.

Christian Aid Yorkshire would like to invite you to an evening at Rotherham Minster with Joe Ndanema (Secretary General, Methodist Church, Sierra Leone) and Eustace Mensah (CA Programme Manager) from Sierra Leone on Wednesday 2 November, at 7.30pm. Hear how partnering with Christian Aid is helping poor communities to have a better life and hopeful future in a country recovering from civil war. ‘Haiti: Beyond the Rubble’ Exhibition
Richard Hanson’s (photographer) exhibition will run from 4 October-3 November in the Workstation on Paternoster Row, Sheffield. In the year following the 12 Jan 2010 earthquake, Richard made three visits to Haiti to report on the work of Tear Fund (www.tearfund.org). The exhibition tells the stories of some of those who survived and how they’re starting to rebuild their lives.
