Bishop Peter is holding a meeting with other faith leaders and members of Doncaster Council at the Doncaster Unitarian and Free Christian Church on Tuesday 17 July (5pm-7pm) to further strengthen existing relationships across the town.
Assistant Director of Communities, Karen Johnson and the Chief Executive, Jo Miller will attend on behalf of the Council.
Others to be invited are organisers and workers of the Bread of Life homeless service which is based at the URC Church in Hallgate; representatives from the Street Pastors and the College Chaplains and Chief Inspector, Ian Bint, of South Yorkshire Police.
Bishop Peter said today: “As the new Bishop of Doncaster, it will be an opportunity to meet with and to hear about the work they have been involved with for a number of years, and also to further strengthen relationships.”
This year it is the centenary of the building of the Free Christian Church, which opened its doors for worship in August 1912, and there will be an exhibition of photographs and historical artefacts on display.
