Cliff College partnership

The Diocese has formed a partnership with Cliff College for the new Aurora training courses.

Aurora Children is the new name for the Children's Ministry Course which Jenny Lambourne (Diocesan Children’s Officer) has been running for a number of years and Aurora Youth is run by Mike North (Director of Youth Ministries) and Jon Buckley from the YMCA.

New volunteer Chaplains

Over the past few months the Diocese, along with South Yorkshire Police (SYP), have been actively seeking new volunteer chaplains.

On 1 March the first of our new volunteer chaplains for SYP completed their initial training at Robert Dyson House with the trainers from the National Association of Chaplains to the Police.

Kirchenkreis Hattingen Witten Clergy Conference, 24 - 27.2.2013

Revd Sue Hobley and Revd Frances Eccleston attended this conference as representatives of the Diocese of Sheffield, following an invitation from Pfarrer Ingo Neserke, Superintendent of the Kirchenkreis. The conference, held bi-annually, was on this occasion based around the theme of preventing burnout and promoting wellbeing for clergy. We joined around forty clergy for four days during which the theme was explored through lectures, small group and plenary sessions. There were also opportunities for prayer, worship and free time together.
