The Ministry Mission Training And Development Team are here to support parishes, lay ministers and clergy witness to the Gospel in the Diocese of Sheffield. We are accountable to the Board of Ministry and Mission chaired by the Bishop of Doncaster.

I help parishes with work amongst children under 11. I train and support children’s leaders and share child protection training with other churches. Godly Play is a particular favourite of mine. I also link in with national and interchurch children’s leaders

I have two roles. As Director of Ordinands I lead a vocations team helping people who think they might be called to ordained ministry discern that calling. As a Residentiary Canon I also work as part of the Cathedral clergy team.

I look after the curates and Church Army Officers during their first three or four years of public ministry. We have small tutorial groups, training days.

My role is to help parishes enrich their worship and music. Even the humblest resources can make a real difference. I also act as secretary to the Worship and Liturgy Committee which offers information and training on our new liturgies.

I also work in General office at Church House on Reception and will be happy to be point of contact for all enquiries which come in regarding officers of the diocese as well as room bookings, data-handling, meetings etc.

As network administrator I try to keep the lines of communication open between you and the officers of the ministry and mission team. I can help you with information on further  Lay Ministry Training, School of Ministry at Wilson Carlile College of Evangelism, CMD and Parish Development courses, Children’s work and training, youth group insurance, grants, and much more. If you need help or information about the network and its activities give me a call. I work full time from the office, so can respond swiftly to requests.

I work  across the Archdeaconries to offer three Saturdays a year for lay ministry development. What’s provided is a response to requests from lay ministers so I hope it bites.
