I work with healthcare professionals and ministers of religion in GP Practices in Sheffield to provide ‘whole person healthcare’ .
Prior to training as a Church Army Evangelist, I spent twenty years working as a registered nurse in the NHS. My desire is to share the Gospel with those who have little or no contact with church or Christians. In Sheffield, 99% of the population go to their GP seeking help with their physical, mental, spiritual and relationship problems compared to 6% who go to their local church.
My ministry has developed over the last three years and is now based in three GP practices. Patients come to see me with a range of issues such as, chronic health problems, depression, abuse, bereavement, miscarriage, paranormal activity, relationship problems and alcoholism, to name just a few. I have taken funerals and memorial services for former patients or their families. I also work alongside local churches, linking patients into their bereavement groups, luncheon clubs, pastoral visits and Alpha groups etc.
