Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme that enables you to make charitable donations straight from your gross salary. This means that you get immediate tax relief on the value of your donation. For a basic rate taxpayer wanting to give a £10 donation, it will only cost £7.80, or just £6 for higher rate taxpayers.

For example

Pledge
Value to charity
Cost to you(paying 20% tax)
Cost to you(paying 40% tax)

Charities Together South Yorkshire

A new consortium of local charities all with very strong links to the Diocese needs your help through payroll giving:

Together for Regeneration works ecumenically to help communities put together action plans for sustainable local regeneration.
Church in Action helps parishes engage with local communities, provides backroom but necessary administration services like accounting and payroll for other small charities, makes general grants to churches, funds initiatives like Major Incident Plan to ensure swift response in case of major attack or disaster in the area, and much much more

Together these four charities make up the consortium “Charities Together South Yorkshire”. Your payroll donations will be shared equally amongst all four charities.

Payroll Giving - How does it work?

Very easily – download the pdf below and fill in and return one copy to your employer’s or pension provider’s payroll section, send a second copy to Nick Hutton, Church House 95-99 Effingham Street, Rotherham S65 1BL and that’s it. Payments are deducted straight from your salary before tax; all you need to do is choose how much you want to give. The money goes via a Payroll Giving agency (who charges a small administrative fee) to the designated charity or charities, in this case “Charities Together South Yorkshire”. If your employer does not currently offer this we can help them set it up. Call Nick Hutton on 01709 309 151 to find out how. Please make a small gift, it could make a big difference to some one’s life.
