For Your Prayers

We ask you to pray this week (15 - 21 October) for people from the following occupations; Health workers and haircutters, domestic workers, care assistants and others in similar work.

The Occupational Prayer Cycle, which runs week by week, covers nearly all occupations over the course of the year. It is produced by South Yorkshire Workplace Chaplaincy, and more information can be found on their website at http://www.sywc.org.uk/opc/

The Chaplaincy supports the idea of a 'living wage' for people in low paid occupations such as these. It promotes a living wage when opportunities arise.

Quote of the week

“No man can do what he is called to do in life unless he can learn to forget his ego and act as an instrument of God.” – WH Auden
