Mission Partnerships Development Worker Project
The Diocese of Sheffield is pleased to announce a new 6 year project supported by the Church Commissioners’ Strategic Development Fund
What does the project involve?
Over the next six years we will be providing up to 15 of the Mission Partnerships in the less affluent areas of the Diocese with paid Development Workers who will support the Mission Partnerships by:
- Supporting the development of lay leadership and involvement;
- Providing an administrative framework for activities and programmes;
- Developing specific projects, teams and areas of work; and
- Developing the use of parish buildings and resources for the benefit of church and community and as a means of increasing future financial viability
The ultimate purpose of providing these new posts will be to:
- Enable the time and energy of the clergy to be released for mission activity
- Build the volunteer lay ministry capacity of parishes in the Mission Partnership
Key Dates
The key dates for the project will be:
Dec 2014 Information Pack available
Mar 2015 First development workers appointed
May 2015 – Dec 2016 Development workers appointed (in up to 5 tranches)
Oct 2020 Funded project ends
