Common Fund 2018
It's the fourth year of Common Fund and we've been really encouraged by the way Benefices from across the Diocese have engaged with the process of pledging and fulfilling that pledge, so we wanted to say a big 'Thank You!'
For 2018 we're bringing in a new element that we hope will help you manage your finances across the year and enable us to form a more balanced approach to the Common Fund. This year we're asking you to give an indication as to how you are planning to structure your payments throughout the year.
For some Benefices you may wish to fulfil your pledge through one large lump sum, whilst others may prefer to give a small monthly amount and then top it up at the end of the year. As a Diocese we don't really mind how you give your Common Fund, although the ideal would be in 12 equal amounts across the year. The more we know about how you want to fulfil your pledge, the more we can support you through the process.
Investing in You
This year, thanks to a grant from the Church Commissioners, we've added a new level of support to help you in your giving and finances, in the form of our new Stewardship and Generous Giving Adviser, David Stout. David is able to support you through the Common Fund process, as well as giving advice on Stewardship Campaigns, Grant Applications, and a whole host of other subjects regarding your finaces. If you would like some support or want to know a little more about what David is able to bring to your Benefice, don't hesistate to get in touch with him by email firstname.lastname@example.org, or give Church House a call on 01709 309 100.
During early July representatives from your Benefice (Treasurer, Secretary, Incumbent) should have received an email or postal letter explaining the Common Fund, a pledge slip, and a booklet outlining what we invest your Common Fund into across the Diocese. Take your time as a PCC to look at your finances and evaluate what would be the most appropriate amount to pledge for Common Fund and return the form to us by the end of September. If you haven't received this, would like another copy, or have any questions about the Common Fund process please email email@example.com, or use the link below.
