Centenary Project - Youth, Children’s and Families Worker for St Paul’s Wheatley Park

Part of the Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

35 hours per week.

Salary: £20,020 per annum for 35 hours/week.

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting  initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Youth, Children’s and Families Worker.

We are looking for a committed Christian, with experience in youth, children’s and families work who will develop and coordinate the youth, children’s and families work in the church and community.  

General responsibilities: -

  • To develop and oversee the work with young people, children and families, in the parish of St Paul’s Wheatley Park; reaching, nurturing and discipling young people in their Christian faith.
  • To coordinate and develop a team of volunteers to oversee the work with young people, children and families.
  • To be a member of the Centenary Project Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 3 years initially

Salary: £18,935 per annum for 35 hours/week.

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Youth, Children’s and Families Worker.

This post covers the parishes of St Mary’s Handsworth and St Catherine’s Richmond Road. These parishes belong to the Anglo-Catholic wing of the church and are committed to advancing God's mission to young people, children and families.

We are looking for a committed Christian, with experience in youth children’s and/or families work and sympathetic to the catholic tradition, who will develop and co-ordinate the youth, children’s and families work in the church and community..

General responsibilities:-

  • To coordinate and develop the work with young people, children and families, in the parishes of St Mary’s Handsworth and St Catherine’s Richmond Road; reaching, nurturing and discipling young people in their Christian faith.
  • To coordinate, develop and support a team of volunteers to oversee the work with young people, children and families.
  • To be a member of the Centenary Project Network.

The role will require evening and weekend work.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland

Contract: 1 year initially (to be extended if funding is available)

Centenary Project Internship

Part of the Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

Flexible hours, (min 13) for one year.

Salary: living wage for the hours that you work.

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as an intern.  

We are looking for a committed Christian who is seeking the opportunity to gain experience and training in youth and/or children’s and families work, whilst discerning God’s call in a prayerful and supportive environment.

General responsibilities: -

  • You will choose a training option to follow while gaining work experience, to provide you with a strong foundation for your future employment.
  • You will work alongside an experienced Centenary Project Worker in a parish setting, serving in youth and/or children’s and families ministry.
  • You will be a member of the Centenary Project Network and attend 1:1 mentoring with an experienced practitioner.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract:       1 year
