Understanding How Older Men Manage Shopping For Food And Cooking
After A Bereavement
The University is working with Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust on a project which hopes to improve the understanding of how older men manage shopping for food and cooking after bereavement. We want to interview men aged 65 and over who have been bereaved for at least three months to understand how well they are coping with these tasks so we can, where necessary, make recommendations on ways in which the health service and other organisations can help them if they need it. The research involves a face to face interview and taking height and weight measures. We would also like participants to keep a food diary for 4 days, full instructions on how to do this will be given. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence and no names will be used in any report. We will give a summary of the findings when the project is complete. The project is taking place in Sheffield and Derbyshire.
If you are interested in participating in this research you can ring me on 01246-514266. My email address is mick.bond@sheffield.ac.uk. I will then send you an information pack.
